Default ASE 12.5 on a P4 win2000 machine

Hello, I am trying to install and run ASE12.5 on my win2000 Pentium 4
machine.

I have used the Java workaround described here
http://www.sybase.com/detail/1,6904,1013241,00.html
with setting the environment variable Java_Compiler=None.
This works for installing ASE, but I cannot get the jisql or the
Sybase Central to run. I do not get an error for jisql and I get a
Java error for Sybase Central. I have tried removing the variable
Java_Compiler=None after Sybase is installed, and I have installed the
latest Java runtime environment (1.3.1.09) which is supposed to fix
the whole P4 bug, but I still cannot run these Sybase tools.

Help please?

David
