| Hi, I am trying to install Sybase ASE 12.5 on RedHat Linux 7.2 but everytime I start the 'asecfg' and configure the master device paths and click on 'Build Server' the machine freezes. The 'lmgr' details are correct and the system spec is in accordance with the release notes including the Glibc version. There is ample space in the master device and subsystemprocs device which I have set as hda1 (/) and hda2 (var) respectively. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dermot. |

Err - what paths do you specify for the master device? If you tell it to use /dev/hda1 then that's definitely wrong. You should tell it to use /<somepath>/master.dat (or some similar name). Also make sure that you have increased the shared memory limit (shmmax) - see http://www.mbay.net/~mpeppler/linux.html for details.
