Default 7210-025 DVD-RAM Drive

Have acquired a 7210-025 DVD-RAM drive and successfully made a mksysb
dvd-ram disk on it attatched to a 7025-F50.
However I cannot test the mksysb dvd-dvd disk as the 7210-025 does not
appear on the boot list of 7025-F50
..
Attatched the 7210-025 to a 7044-170 and a 7025-F80 where it started to make
the mysysb dvd-ram disk but fell over with the HD disk capacity error. Am
acquiring bigger HD's to solve this problem, but at least the 7210-025 works
on these two machines also.
The 7210-025 does not appear on the boot list of 7025-F80 or 7044-170
either.

Seems rather strange that the 7210-025 can be used to make bootable mksysb
dvd-ram disks but cannot be used to boot from them. The internal HP DVD
drives in the three above computers immediately spit out the dvd-ram disks.

If the Matsushita LF-D291BK dvd-ram drive inside the 7210-025 was installed
directly inside any of the three computers, would this make it automatically
appear on the boot list, or can the external 7210-025 somehow be added to
the boot list.

Thanks
Basil
